The History of Tabbert

Tabbert Caravans has been synonymous with luxury and craftsmanship since its founding in 1953. The company was established by Alfred Tabbert in Bad Kissingen, Germany, and quickly gained recognition for producing caravans that combined technical innovation with classic, elegant design.

In the post-war era of the 1950s and 60s, Tabbert’s caravans stood out for their solid construction and luxurious interiors, setting standards for comfort in leisure travel. As demand for holiday caravans grew throughout Europe, Tabbert became a household name, known for its timeless styling and exceptional build quality.

By the 1970s and 80s, Tabbert had firmly established itself as a premium touring caravan brand. The company invested heavily in expanding its production capabilities, offering a growing range of models tailored to both seasoned travellers and first-time buyers. Tabbert’s signature blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology helped it stand apart in a competitive market.

In 1997, Tabbert became part of the Knaus Tabbert Group, further strengthening its position in the European caravan industry. This partnership allowed Tabbert to benefit from cutting-edge manufacturing techniques while maintaining its hallmark luxury appeal.

Iconic model lines such as the Puccini, Cellini, and Vivaldi continue to showcase Tabbert’s commitment to refinement, innovation, and quality. These caravans are known for their distinctive interiors, advanced comfort features, and meticulous attention to detail.

Today, Tabbert Caravans are produced at the state-of-the-art Knaus Tabbert factory in Jandelsbrunn, Germany. As of 2022, Tabbert continues to be a leader in the premium segment, offering hand-crafted caravans that blend tradition with modern touring luxury.
